I wasn't sure where I could say this so I just made a post for it.

Not to fanboy all over the place but I had to say some praise for this book. I finally got my copy of The Gnoll Credo in the mail yesterday from Amazon. After a few lines I finished it in one sitting. Thank you Mr.Stanton, thank you so much for writing this utterly amazing, mind opening, and fantastically beautiful book. Thank you also introducing me to the amazing, inspiring beauty that goes by the name of Gryka. She is truely phenominal. Also, thanks for writing a book about Gnolls. 🙂 Not enough literature about them in my opinion. I've had an bit of an obsession with hyenas most of my life and I'm always excited to see well made and accurate literature pertaining to them.

Thank you First-Eater, I am awake now. 🙂

Cheers and well wishes.

Mik:

Thank you for the sincere and heartfelt praise. Writing this book was difficult and emotionally wrenching.  I've tried my best to honor Gryka's memory by telling the world what I learned from her, and I'm glad I was able to communicate some of that to you.

Like you, I am of the opinion that the world needs more gnolls.  What they have to say is not only profound, it's critical for our future survival.  You can help by telling others how much the Credo means to you, by linking people to interesting stories here, and by reviewing the Credo on Amazon if you can.

Also, drop me a private message with your mailing address and I'll send you some stickers:

May I ask how you heard about the book?

I absolutly agree with you one hundred and ten precent that we really need to change some things around, otherwise this species is utterly doomed. Gryka provides wonderful and valuable insights into these flaws and shortcomings we've developed for our species. I too will miss her very, very much. 🙁 As far as how I heard about The Gnoll Credo,  I noticed your book in a list of related Hyena things when I purchased Kalahari Hyenas: Comparative Behaviorial Ecology of Two Species by M.G.L Mills. I saw the title and HAD to have it. Best purchase I ever made 🙂

I would like to offer some praise to Mr. Stanton for this great book. I came across the sample chapter on a Twitter feed that some of the people from Gym Jones were passing back and forth and immediately it had me hooked. I finished reading it in about 5 days and I must say that while many books tend to disappoint in the last chapter or 2 I found the last portion of the book to really get me excited and wanting more. Much like the mission of the folks at Gym Jones, it seemed that the point of this book was to get you to think rather than just provide an answer. Great work.

SnowRider:

Instead of pushing you away by allowing ironic distance, I use the last chapters to pull you into the reality of Gryka and her world.  That alarms a lot of "literary" people, who expect an escape hatch by which they can distance themselves from events -- but I didn't write the book for them.  I wrote it for Gryka, and I wrote it for people like you.

I'm glad the book spoke to you.  Thanks for letting me know.

PS: Gym Jones sounds like an excellent place to train.

Excellent book Mr. Stanton! After reading your "Eat Like A Predator, Not Like Prey" article, I thought The Gnoll Credo might be a good read. You sir, did not disappoint!

You hunt large, dangerous prey with your book and I was completely absorbed into its pages. Thank you for writing it.

Aug:

It is large, dangerous prey, is it not?

Right now, our future is endless slavery to the vast system on which we are utterly dependent.  Creating a future of joy and freedom is the most important problem for humans to solve, and I had no idea I would be taking it on when I began the book.  I learned it all from Gryka -- and I'm doing my best to honor her memory by sharing what I've learned.

I'm glad TGC spoke to you. Feel free to stick around, and to share how it's affected you.

PS: Sticker offer is still good.
